I am looking forward to Christmas this year. Last year's was hard. My mother was dying and other bad things were happening too. I thank God for the support we had then, and this year has been so much better.
This year, I'm thinking specially of the people for whom this Christmas is a difficult one and wishing them well for the future.
T and I saw this sweet scene in front of Herne Hill Station a few days ago. They were having a Christmas festival in this little corner of London. The sheep and goats were really pleased to get all the attention, and crowds of people were packing the tiny back streets with their friends, and buying lots of interesting things on the craft stalls.
And, imagine the sound of a band playing "Good King Wenceslas" in the background, adding to the festive atmosphere. Not with Westminster Abbey choir singing it, admittedly. But I love this version with the organ and soloist!
