Let's get in fast.....before Spring comes

First of March always feels like the first day of Spring, even though everything still looks fast asleep where I am.   So let's get in quickly, before winter turns into Spring, and see some photos from London's wintertime.

At the pantomime....a little girl is briefly glimpsed peering over the plush balustrades at the century-old  Hackney Empire theatre.

In the park...Royal guardsmen and their horses exercising, in mufti,  in Hyde Park.

That traditional narrow-boat - see it out in the middle of the canal? - was chugging quietly along near Islington, surrounded by reflections. The little triangular light shows that someone was sitting warm and cosy inside

In the gardens... they're our back gardens, serving all the houses in the square

At the palace. A piece of topiary illuminated for Christmas, while distant royalty, with crown and sceptre, sits on its plinth outside Kensington Palace.

In the store window, this glamorous winter fairy is flying through the windows of Fortnum and Mason, founded 1792,  in Piccadilly

Amongst the houses, pigeons wander past an upside down panorama on posh Primrose Hill

Two boys taking their dog for a walk in Bermondsey - or are they?

Sunset at St. Paul's Cathedral, across the river Thames - as the daylight fades, the lights of evening start to shine as bright as day.
