There we were, minding our own business one blossomy day in Spring 2011, when T's mobile rang. It was our daughter K, calling from Brazil. It was wonderful news. She was calling to say F. had proposed. And the wedding would be in late Spring, 2012.
We were delighted! But late Spring 2012 seemed a long way away.
It's nearly here now, though. Just another few weeks.
So exciting!
All the best to them.
ReplyDeleteSpring blossoms are just a pure delight and we like them even more because of their transience.
ReplyDeleteGreat news! Congrats.
ReplyDeleteYeah, congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHappy and love!
A spring wedding how lovely :-) And almost here x
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling when a daughter is getting married. It is such an exciting and happy time. Enjoy enjoy and my best to you all.
ReplyDeleteA lovely Spring Wedding to look forward to. Make the most of being ‘Mother of the Bride’.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteExciting . . . I do hope you'll share pictures . . .
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I hope you will post photos!
ReplyDeleteOOOOOOOO a wedding! Can't wait to see wedding photos!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! This is a special time for your family. Enjoy! Bonnie
ReplyDeleteYou'll be the Mother of the Bride, that's VERY exciting. Hope you will tell us more. Where is the wedding to be held? What will you wear? Such a happy occasion for the family.
ReplyDeleteDarla
Congratulations to the couple!!! Cheers, Ruby
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful time of year to celebrate two people coming together through love. Congratulations to the happy couple.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to everyone! A Spring wedding is so romantic. Looking forward to hearing more about the exciting event ...
ReplyDeleteMany happy years together to your daughter and your new son in law!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to the happy couple and the families! Weddings are so much fun.
ReplyDeleteAaaahh! Lovely news - much happiness to you all.
ReplyDeleteDoes that mean there'll soon be a travel post from Brazil?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all involved.
Congrats! That is wonderful news! Wishing them many years of happiness!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Will the wedding be in Brazil or in England?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments! I am getting quite excited about it now. Actually, Friko and Pixel Peeper, she only called from Brazil because that is where they happened to be. It's a long complicated story how they happened to be there last Spring... actually she lives just five minutes walk from us in London! We will have the wedding in London. F's family are Irish but luckily Ireland is just a short hop with Ryanair. I'm soooo glad it's not Brazil, it's just too far.
ReplyDeleteI'll ask them if I can post photos. That will be fun! I'm trying to be brave and not wear traditional "mother of the bride" outfit - not even a hat. Hats aren't really "me" and K has specially said she wants everyone to wear clothes that suit their personality. On the other hand T has pointed out that I loved to wear great big hats when we first met :)
Congratulations! Lots of excitement and preparations to come! :)
ReplyDeleteYou must be getting quite excited. Congratulations to all. Hope the day is wonderful and you capture some beautiful photos to share. Sue
ReplyDeleteCongrats! My daughter is getting married in a few weeks too! I hope it is a beautiful day for all.
ReplyDeleteJenny,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! What an exciting news! Wishing them forever happiness!
Looking forward to your next report.

How lovely to have a Spring wedding - hope the weather improves by then:)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I've always wondered at how people can do such long-ahead planning; how do they know they'll still want to get married in a year's time? Maybe I am lacking some "stability gene" there when it comes to relationships; I was married twice, and both times we didn't take more than a month or two from deciding we would take this important step and actually doing it.
ReplyDeleteNow, what are you going to wear...? :-)
Great news for you and them!! Congratulations and all the best!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch and exciting time. Congratulations to you all. We have a wedding in the family next week... my husband's daughter and her partner are 'getting hitched' as they says... and informal backyard affair but lovely all the same. I hope that your family have a lovely time.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm already looking forward to a detailed report and lots of photos! :)
ReplyDeleteHow very exciting, I hope you all have a fantastic day when it happens with lots of wonderful photographs to remember it by.
ReplyDeletehow wonderful - and those flowers are so beautiful! i think you should wear a great big hat laden with those roses!
ReplyDeleteguess you will be a bit busy for a while then? every good wish to the young couple and family
There’s no such exciting thing as daughter’s wedding in a few weeks! My heartiest congratulations! Are you flying to Brazil? Look forward to your post about how it goes. White blossoms look overjoyed and the bunch of roses smiling.
ReplyDeletehow exciting....spring weddings are fab...so is it in brazil? that would be a cool trip...nice flowers too...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! We wish your daughter, her fiancé, and your family a wonderful day to remember. Will it be in Brazil?
ReplyDeleteI am heading to a cousin's wedding next weekend as well in San Antonio, TX. Weddings are such lovely family reunions. I'll be meeting up with my dad, brother, cousins, etc. all coming from various corners of the earth.
Oh, I finally got a chance to see the Royal Ballet's "Alice in Wonderland" on DVD. It was quite creative and got better the more surreal it all was. I enjoyed the employment of theater and other media to convey the strangeness of the world down the rabbit hole!
Jenny
How absolutely wonderful that she lives nearby and you can share in the excitement leading up to "the day." May you have a day filled with love and lots of flowers. I would go for the big hat myself...
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie

ReplyDeleteradiant just like a radiant bride and roses are lovely.
How exciting! I hope it'll be a very happy marriage. And yes, of course you should wear the clothes you feel good/comfortable in and not something stuffily "traditional".

ReplyDeleteWOW such wonderful news. I know how fast a year can zoom by day by day. For me the months are zooming by so fast you turn around and the month is almost gone.
