Well, everyone's getting on fine at home, all snug and cosy, I am glad to say, and me? I'm sitting here snug and cosy too and happily thinking about what I was doing exactly this time last year.
I was in Lucerne, Switzerland, and this is the view across the water. Our hotel, the Wilden Mann, was just to the right, beyond that church. It was a very comfortable and interesting old hotel and we really enjoyed being in Lucerne, which was beautifully decorated for Christmas.
Even though I'm only away a very few days, I probably won't have time to blog till next week as there will be lots of catching up to do even after I am home this is turning - into a very busy time. In the meantime, I hope you like the photo of lovely Lucerne.

It is so pretty there! I am not sure if you are away or at home but wherever you are have fun!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful night scene. Enjoy!! :)
ReplyDeleteAh, a place we both visited, Jenny. :) I think that is the Jesuit Church in the background of your pretty night capture of Lucerne. If it is, it has a tricky step down from inside the church area into the entrance hall. That’s where I had a major fall, acquiring several large colorful bruises and almost broke my camera!
ReplyDeleteOoh, a veritable fairland of lights. A lovely little going-away gift for us and a sweet beacon to help you find your way back. Enjoy your catching up!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny! I'll be looking forward to your photos when you return from Bavaria...to little ole me who lives so far away from Europe, it sounds very charming and wonderful to be able to visit there this time of year. We are so new and brash here in the USA...relatively speaking anyway. Enjoy your time, and I'm glad you are here to share all your travel adventures!
ReplyDeleteIt is like a fairytale, magical and enchanting.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful! Have a good trip to and from Munich, and a great time there!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a lovely arch by the water! It reminds me of palm trees for some reason. I know how you feel. Just a few days can throw your blog schedule off.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and Christmassy

Nice pic. Enjoy your time, if you can!
ReplyDeleteAnother temptation. A friend was talking of her visits there recently. I must, I must......
ReplyDeleteThe WV was 'laben' which is, I think, 'refresh' in German. How odd.
ReplyDeleteThat's really quite beautiful. I am so drawn to bright lights and night time shots.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post. I loved Lucerne, except for the weather. It rained for eleven days while I was there. Only yesterday I posted a picture taken there.
ReplyDeleteOh joy - somewhere else I simply have to visit (the list gets longer and longer!)
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely. I went there once but I was in charge of 35 teenagers so I can't say I had time to really look around. But I remember the bridge. I'd like to go to the Xmas market there.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Word verif just now was seasonal - "treelog".
ReplyDeleteWe had a marvellous holiday in Lucerne some years ago. Probably our best ever. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time there, never mind the busy times afterwards. ^^
ReplyDeleteLovely lights. :)
Hi,Jenny.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely photo. The place looks classis.
Enjoy your break!
Tomoko.
Hi Jenny,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place it is! Are the illuminations Christmas decorations? If we see illuminations at this time of year, we soon associate them with Christmas. In Tokyo I saw a lot of Christmas illuminations and decorations, but also too many people there. Jenny we are fair-weather Christians. I enjoy your posts always!
Best wishes,
keiko
No snow in Lucerne???
ReplyDeleteObviously I'm jealous here, but no snow in Lucerne?
You made me feel so good reading your post and looking at the Lucerne photo :)
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Jenny, you could have time to relax yourself before things would be speeding up. I like the serene and beautiful Lucerne without too brilliant but decent illumination. December is the busiest month. Japanese housewives prepare for the Christmas, secular Christmas, and right after Christmas is over we tackle the New Year, completely two different traditions. Stay warm and have a nice break.

Lovely picture of Lucerne. Hope you are enjoying your time away.
ReplyDeleteDarla
I just do not like the photo, I love it! Great post. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fairy tale sounds...
ReplyDeletePearl
Lovely Lucerne but I hope you'll also have a few tales to tell about your stay in Munich.
ReplyDeleteLucerne looks lovely all lit up (how's that for some alliteration?!). I actually don't remember Lucerne. My mum and I briefly stopped there on a trip through Switzerland and Germany back when I was in graduate school. I'm glad you posted this photo.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip, then Christmas will be in full swing when you get back.
Gorgeous - what a pretty pic! Despite all my visits to Switzerland (I have a sister-in-law in Basel) I have never made it to Lucerne - one day! Merry Christmas if I don't catch you online again beforehand.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo, Jenny!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to visit Switzerland.
Hope you're enjoying a wonderful holiday!
the pic look soooooper.... and hope you have a nice time away from blogger... have a nice week :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a splendid photograph - the lights seem to give the scene a wonderful sense of movement.
ReplyDeleteI love those lights, so beautiful! Is it just for the holiday or do they have them up all the time?
ReplyDeleteHope you're enjoying the holiday.
