The Leg

I was walking along the South Bank in London, just by City Hall, past groups of people sitting around enjoying the sunshine, listening to music in the outdoor auditorium, hurrying off to do some shopping, eating their lunchtime sandwiches,  and so on - when all of a sudden this leg rose slowly and silently from behind a pile of stacked up slabs.

Various ideas rose in my head along the lines of ... "Hey, is that a real leg?"

And "It's naked - is its owner wearing any clothes?"

And ... well.

If you look closely you'll see it's actually 2 legs. They belonged to a woman doing yoga on a low wall.   Wearing clothes.  And nobody, apart from me, was taking any notice of her.

Just a typical moment in London.

  4. Hi Jenny,
    I would've done a double take.
It's interesting to know it's a typical moment in London.

  5. Interesting place to do yoga. For me, at least.

And yeah, I bet they are all looking without being too obvious doing it. XD

  6. Were it not for the position of her toes, I would have thought, too, that it is an artifical leg. It looks just so perfectly toned and with perfect skin, plus one really never knows what ideas modern art comes up with.

  7. Jenny, I won't be able to do yoga with naked legs like this in public. So, I envied her a little. What an interesting place London is! If it were In Japan, many people must have looked at her.
    Have a great weekend!

  10. Without your explanation, Genny, I wouldn't have noticed they were two legs together. Almost unheard of here in Japan, but a typical moment in London... isn’t it interesting?

  13. The Hampton Court show is wonderful and one day is nowhere near long enough to appreciate all the beauty and imagination. I love your photos - a delightful selection:-)

  15. This reminds me of Vancouver, BC. You could do practically anything in that city and everyone would just walk by and not even notice.
