Each rune corresponded to a color which in turn corresponded to a letter he saw in that color (he has synesthesia). It allowed him to write in runes without having to have a key to translate.Secret Agent Womanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07564690116156754219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7937298116504825290.post-70409717283758900372022-05-11T20:33:00.461+01:002022-05-11T20:33:00.461+01:00A lovely post, Jenny. I haven't heard of Walberswick, so I need to look up where it is. That beach looks fantastic, but I'm sorry you were so cold. I love the thatched house with the beautiful animals on the roof! The playing cats are delightful!Vallypeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08309284606572565277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7937298116504825290.post-56236817530703228542022-04-22T17:25:02.475+01:002022-04-22T17:25:02.475+01:00I'd never heard of Walberswick, though of cour...I'd never heard of Walberswick, though of course I've heard many times of Southwold (but never been there). Looks like a nice quiet retreat from the Southwold crowds. I must say the Austin junior staff car is much more distinctive and eye-catching than today's uninspired identikit cars! I love the animals on top of the thatched roof. The Easter Dove cake looks delicious, likewise the biscuits.nickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10472673041193755894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7937298116504825290.post-72091367677175669872022-04-21T00:16:52.383+01:002022-04-21T00:16:52.383+01:00We went to a wedding on Walberswick Beach about tw...We went to a wedding on Walberswick Beach about twenty years ago! It was very romantic, the bride and groom arriving out of a morning mist on a small boat and he carrying her the last few steps onto the shore. The bride, my favourite friend when I lived in London, grew up nearby so I've visited this area several times but don't remember the church nor seeing such amazing thatching. Thank you for the little trip, Jenny! This is really intriguing!<br />Years ago, my sister and I visited a Yorkshire village (can't remember its name, unfortunately) with my uncle and aunt. The church there had some Viking murals inside, with dragons and runic writing. It all looked strange in those surrounding, but I guess in those days when Vikings began to embrace the Christian religion, they mixed their old Norse language and beliefs with it.Librarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05704656564078750607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7937298116504825290.post-75699761838998162442022-04-20T06:50:15.805+01:002022-04-20T06:50:15.805+01:00Well, you look like you had one interesting Easter...Well, you look like you had one interesting Easter!
