Gourmet, Not!

I thought you might like to see the stash of sweeties which S. got from the local sweetshop with a pound that he was given.  He is usually only allowed to eat sweets very occasionally, (otherwise he would eat nothing else) but this was a special pound from great-granny, who does not understand about children not being allowed sweets. So for once, he got the chance to splurge. It took him about half an hour to choose this collection, with great care.

As it is not Halloween, he didn't get the chance to buy candy in the shape of fangs, but I think  the life-sized dental plates are far worse.

  2. Those who have had the idea to produce such oddly shaped sweets knew exactly what they were doing - probably they would have loved having those when they were kids!
I was always a chocolate lover, never really went for the sugary-rubbery-chewy kind of sweets myself.

  3. I bet the teeth went in his mouth in one go. Looking at the plate of sweeties made my mouth water. I almost wished I was a child again,.

  4. As my nickname would indicate, I don't turn up my nose at too much food, but this is a plate I'd definitely consider passing on.

  7. hahahahahahah, so funny.
You know just the fact he got to spend sometime looking and figuring out what he could purchase was half the fun !
On my blogger reader I just saw a small thumbnail and I thought you were going to post about Japanese plastic display food. The egg really looks like it.

  11. What a yummy looking plateful - although not a sweet lover I would enjoy eating them - bar the teeth that is!

I think your other readers are correct in that chomping on the dentures would be a joy to children - I reckon aging puts us off eating what we might some day have to wear!

    Kind regards

  14. How funny! Children love anything in the shape of something that would make an adult cringe. They think it is so funny! I think it is the responsibility of the grandparents and great grandparents to spoil. Good job! Have a terrific weekend. Bonnie

  18. It all appears much like sushi, and a sunny side up egg...which can be yummy, as for the teeth...ha ha...very light-hearted! I'm sure as sweets go they are all tasty!

  19. It's interesting that the sweets have been shaped like a dental plate when sweets have been known to be a cause for tooth decay. I wonder if there's a hidden message behind.

  20. Grandparents "forgot" that their grandchildren shouldn't be allowed to enjoy too much, unlike the time when they were parents. xD

I bet we'll turn into the same indulging granny when it's our time. ^^

Those dental sweets! OMG! But great for gag gift, I think. ;)

  22. Wonderful that S. took half an hour to choose. It must have been quite a challenge. Great-granny's ignorance is clearly bliss for little S.

  23. So he turned down the glass eyes and the drunkard's nose in favour of the false teeth?
